Q

What is the Curriculum Material Grant, how much is it and how is it allocated?

A

Manitoba Education provides school divisions and/or schools with a Curricular Materials Grant of $60 per eligible pupil. To allow schools greater flexibility in the use of the Curricular Materials Grant, a discretionary portion of the Grant—$30 per eligible pupil—is paid directly to school divisions and schools. This portion can be used to purchase learning resources from any source, including MTBB.The remaining $30 balance of the Grant will be retained as a credit solely for the purchase of curricular materials that meet the definition through MTBB. These Grant funds can be accessed only by ordering materials through MTBB. Schools are encouraged to use their $30 per pupil portion of the Grant on recommended curriculum-matched learning resources. These curriculum-matched learning resources represent excellent value.
